The Positives Of Building Your MLM Business Offline

Their is a lot of really positive information on the internet right now about how to build your mlm business online. Tons! So much info!

But what I wanted to do in this post is lay out a few of  the pros of building your business offline, as I haven’t read much of anything positive about it really.   I know it’s hard to believe but their are a few advantages to building offline that are harder to get within the online world.

Most of us are introduced to the industry offline somehow, be it a family, friends, cold called, responding to a newspaper add or flyer or by some other means. That’s just the way it’s been done for years.

Historically, offline has been the only way to contact people. Network marketing has been around for over 80 years, the internet has been around for close to 20 and only within the last few years have we seen the internet used for building mlm. The largest downlines in the industry have been built offline, so it does work for some people.

Alright, here we go -

1.

One pro of offline is that it doesn’t really take a lot of skill to learn how to market your opportunity. It really doesn’t.

You know how it goes:

Write down a list of everyone you know, call them,  send them an info package, get them to a meeting, get them on a 3 way call, or get them to meet with you and your sponsor to sign them into your business…  the action part of all this doesn’t take a lot of skill. Anybody can do these things without having to learn much of anything and from that standpoint, it’s a positive.

2.

Another pro I’d like to mention is the social aspect of building offline.  Most of the time when a person is contacted offline about an mlm opportunity, they are encouraged to get to a meeting or function of some kind.  I believe this to be the biggest advantage of offline over online.  Getting together with other people who have the same goals that you have is really motivating and incredibly helpful.  It helps keep people going in their business and stay motivated.  You are unlikely to get that if you are on your computer all the time working with people potentially from all over the globe.   Going to meetings is a cornerstone of building your business and staying motivated.

3. Cost -

It’s usually cheaper to build your business offline then online.  I you are motivated enough, you can talk with anyone just about anywhere and it’s not going to cost you anything but time.     I have read about people who have done just this and built huge organizations as a result.    Of course you can end up spending a good amount of money on your business offline but compared to all of the ways you can spend money online, it’s gonna be cheaper offline… (at least in the beginning)

4.  Direct contact with your sponsor -

When you are building your business offline, most of the time you came in to the business because you met your sponsor in person somewhere, somehow.         If your sponsor knows what he is doing and is providing good leadership, then this is invaluable to your success.  Likely because they will be hosting a weekly or monthly opportunity meeting or provide group training in some way.  Also the ability to do in person meetings between you, your sponsor, and your prospect is helpful when your first starting out to watch and learn how they do it. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful this is.

Ok, so those are a few of the positives that I could come up with about this whole offline building your mlm business thing.

Perhaps you are noting a bit of a struggle in my writing about this subject.  And honestly, this was a bit of a struggle to come up with a few positives for working your mlm biz offline… yes, it’s true, a struggle.        Why?                 Because of what I have learned and continue to learn about the benefits and positives of building your opportunity Online vs Offline.   I’ll get to that in another post, but what I want to leave you with here today, is this:

Their are a few positives to working mlm offline… but not many.

I will get into the negatives of offline in my next post -

Take Care,

Ben

  1. Agreed, and it’s nice to see someone giving the positives of building offline, rather than trying to say it’s “Dead” so they can sell something.

The “Hybrid” approach is the best way in modern times; so many make the mistake of the online hype and ignore the goldmine in their backyard… however, I don’t think they should ignore the goldmine on the internet either.
